Kansas 5A State Championships

The Golden Bears broke four school records yesterday at the Kansas 5A State prelims.  Gabe Pena broke 2 of the 4, breaking his own records in the 50 free (21.97) and 100 fly (53.52).  Those times has him ranked 3rd and 6th heading into today’s finals.

The other two records were broken by the 200 medley relay (1:41.55 – Pena, Clay, Harrity, Chowning) and the 200 free relay (1:30.67 – Pena, Xiong, Harrity, Chowning).  Those relays are ranked 3rd and 2nd heading into finals.
