The Turner High School choirs have been preparing for their upcoming Spring Show — “We Love the 2000s”. This year, we are going to do things a bit differently, and are going to switch to charging a $2 admission for the event. All patrons, with the exception of young children who can sit on a parent’s lap, will be asked to pay $2 for admission. The students have been working hard to choreograph each piece, and we will also be bringing in a full band in order to accompany the students and provide an accurate feeling of each piece.
The proceeds of this event will go toward purchasing awards for the students, as well as purchasing trophies for their accomplishments this year. KSHSAA only awards our large ensembles with a plaque, and our small ensembles get individual medals to take home. However, we would like to purchase trophies for each ensemble that receives a “superior” rating each year in order to keep a showing record of our choral accomplishments. In addition to this, we would like to provide a small striped for each band member that has volunteered their time to the success of the students.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 PM! Students will be performing songs from the following 2000s artists: Destiny’s Child, Plain White T’s, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Coldplay, Outkast, Vanessa Carlton, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Jay-Z, and Alicia Keys.
Thank you for your unending support of our Fine Arts Department! We appreciate it. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions regarding the event at firstname.lastname@example.org. -Ms. Hanna
