Multiple Teams · Turner names Stephan Franklin as new Head Football Coach

Greetings Turner community!

My name is Stephen Franklin and I am beyond excited to be the head varsity football coach at Turner High School. I can’t wait to come in and serve this wonderful community and those who make it so.

I was born and raised in Kansas City where I attended North Kansas City high school (class of 2007) and was a 3 sport athlete (football, basketball, & track) while earning a 3.3 gpa. I then went on to receive a full ride scholarship to Southern Illinois University where I studied exercise science and played football (linebacker). After college, was selected as an undrafted free agent and played in the NFL for 2 seasons (Bengals, Seahawks, & Jaguars).

Once I returned to Kansas City, I began coaching as a certified strength and conditioning coach and began to help athletes reach their full potential in their respective sports. I have been blessed to have worked with athletes of all levels including multiple MLB, NFL, NBA, and Division 1 athletes in a wide variety of sports. I also coached high school football as a position coach (linebackers and defensive line) as well as a defensive coordinator.

I am extremely honored to be able to step into this role while empowering and positively impacting the lives of so many young people! Our program will be focused on building and maintaining a positive culture aimed at developing and preparing incredible young people for their futures on and off the field!

LET’S BE GREAT TODAY! – GO BEARS!
